Multilingualism in BlueSpice

Automatic translation with DeepL AI

Multilingual wikis make knowledge accessible to people from different language areas and cultures, thereby reaching a broad user base. The wiki becomes an inclusive platform.
AI-powered translation in BlueSpice helps you quickly and easily translate content into other languages.

Advantages at a glance

Thanks to the integrated DeepL application, time lost due to manual translation is now a thing of the past. This not only increases productivity but also frees up capacity for other important tasks! Automated translation makes it easy to combine content from different languages. Multilingualism also promotes the exchange of different perspectives and increases the quality of content.

How it works

In order to correctly match the language variants for translation, the structure of the content should be coordinated. We support you with the initial setup and train you so that your administrators and/or wiki editors can easily manage any additional content areas.

Start translation

Creating a translation in BlueSpice with DeepL integration is child’s play. Click on the Translate link in the right-hand menu bar to start the process. A dialog box will open where you can select the desired target language.

Generate preview

The translation created is first displayed as a preview and can be saved directly.

Translate and migrate content

After confirmation, the translation is transferred to the target wiki. Pages that do not yet exist are created automatically. The article can then be translated directly into other languages.

Linking the language versions

The translations can be accessed by clicking on the globe icon in the upper right corner of the wiki.

Translation glossary

Glossary entries for translation can be maintained on the Special:TranslationGlossary page. This ensures that certain terms from the source language are always translated with a specific term from the target language.

Updating translations

The DeepL integration in BlueSpice also offers a convenient solution for updating translations that already exist in the wiki.

If the page content in the source language has changed or if the page to be translated already exists, the new translation must first be approved.

The affected pages are listed in the target language wiki on the special page Merge articles. Files, templates, and category pages must also be approved first.

The old and new content is clearly compared. Textual changes can be confirmed either paragraph by paragraph or in their entirety. This gives you full control and an overview of your content—even in a multilingual system.
