Many customers have been waiting for this news: BlueSpice basically supports the connection of ticket systems, but until now it was not clear which system should be given preference. Now BlueSpice customers get valuable decision support: At the BlueSpice Summit, Hallo Welt! GmbH announced that it is entering into a strategic partnership with Easy Software Ltd, the manufacturer of Easy Redmine.
For BlueSpice customers, this means that in the future they will be able to expand their knowledge base and documentation system at any time with the powerful task management system Easy Redmine.
It also means that our customers can permanently use two applications that can be installed not only in the cloud but also on their own servers in the long term. They will continue to meet their high-security standards, remain compliant with European data protection requirements, and move fully in line with the trend towards open source solutions and more digital sovereignty.
With Easy Redmine and BlueSpice MediaWiki the right people have found each other
Easy Software Ltd. and Hallo Welt! GmbH are a good match in every respect. Both companies have been delivering products and solutions to enterprise customers from all industries for a long time – in Europe, but also beyond. How can BlueSpice and Easy Redmine be used together?
With the combination of Easy Redmine and BlueSpice, customers fulfill many requirements that are placed on a professional service organization or project management today.
One example is product development and product management. For these, every company needs a central platform on which development, sales and management can work together. In the wiki, those involved collaborate on the specification for a new software product. All current specifications, stakeholder feedback and the minutes of all meetings can be found there centrally. Easy Redmine takes over the control of the actual implementation. In the project management software, capacities are planned, tasks are assigned, acceptances and documentation are organized. All these activities take place under control of the workload and costs. The documentation of the new product, in turn, is sensibly handled in the BlueSpice wiki. This high transparency of the process significantly reduces communication and research times.
The organization of the normal daily routine, e.g. the handling of customer projects, also becomes much more transparent and efficient through the combination of the two tools. Weekly team meetings are prepared in the wiki. There, employees write their topics and key figures in the minutes in advance, and the planning and all agreements are already documented during the meeting: The results are immediately available to everyone. In the minutes, the weekly tasks contain the corresponding links to the tasks in Easy Redmine. Traffic light colors indicate the status of the tasks. When the team members call up the minutes again in the following days, they can see all the central information about the implementation status via the link to the project management software: Who is the current editor? How many hours have already been worked on it and what is the implementation status? They don’t have to leave the wiki to do this: they simply hover over the task icon with the mouse. Conversely, the comment function in the respective Easy-Redmine task has been extended to include a link to the wiki page.
Another prominent example of the productive use of a wiki and project management software in combination is certainly the area of support and user help desk. While the task involves organizing requests and communicating with the customer and colleagues, the wiki is the central and easily searchable platform for information at all support levels. Both user and admin manuals, the most important how-tos, descriptions of workarounds, references, notes on configurations, installations, product and process descriptions for all product variants can be found there. Support staff, technicians or technical writers share their knowledge in the Wiki, but also employees from sales, marketing or project management get a lot of information here and update content with valuable experience.
The use cases are almost endless. And the two partners Hallo Welt! and Easy Software are only at the beginning. Together with their customers, both companies want to develop, expand and standardize the connection of the two systems.
