It’s time for BlueSpice 4.3
29. June 2023
BlueSpice 4.3 is the latest minor release of our popular enterprise wiki software. It offers many new and comfortable features. Of course, it includes improvements and bug fixes as well.
What is new in BlueSpice 4.3?
With BlueSpice 4.3 you are perfectly prepared! The new version comes with MediaWiki 1.39 LTS and is compatible up to PHP 8.2, making your wiki faster and more efficient. In addition, all distribution extensions are up to date – with long-term support.
It couldn’t be easier – ContentDroplets
Add files, diagrams, lists, buttons, and more to your wiki page with a single click. Additional templates, tags, or parser functions are also possible. This feature replaces the “Magic Word” menu item in the visual editor.
Advanced menu editor
Use the improved editor to easily customize your main navigation and create a menu structure with subitems. The well-designed user interface makes it easy to edit your links using drag & drop.
Startpage templates
Design your main page or portal page in no time with the new startpage templates. Two different styles are available for you to choose from. In addition, you will now also find the popular “Font Awesome” icons in your wiki.
Filter elements of your page content
Using the “Content Filter” droplet, you can search either the entire wiki page or preselected elements ( e.g. headings, lists, or paragraphs). This way you can find the knowledge you need even faster.
Embed PDF preview
The “PDF preview” droplet displays a PDF viewer directly on your wiki page. You can place PDF files directly in the wiki to read them comfortably.
More improvements
BlueSpice 4.3 also contains other improvements such as:
- Copying and pasting content from other applications, such as MS Word or MS Excel, into the visual editor has been improved.
- Links in draw.io diagrams are now possible.
- Subpages can be deleted along with the parent page.
- Page templates can be tagged and filtered.
- The overview pages for workflows and quality management have been revised.
- In the config manager, you can adjust the position of the metadata (recommendations, categories, ratings).
- For images that are added to a wiki page via drag & drop, you can set a default position and size in the config manager.
