We release patches once a month, minor releases once or twice a year, and major releases every few years. We also publish our release policy in our Trust & Safety Center.
We also explain the differences on the Installations & Updates page, where we also inform you about our installation and update services.
We have described the difference in more detail on our Installation and Updates page.
Cloud customers receive updates and upgrades automatically.
On Premises customers get updates and upgrades via our download page.
The latest versions of BlueSpice free can also be found there.
Your in-house on premises installation should be upgraded once a year to keep you on the ball and prevent the version jumps from becoming too large.
Exceptions are of course security releases and security patches, which should be updated as soon as possible.
We recommend to our On Premises customers that they also keep up with major version jumps in a timely manner. The effort is worth it, even if it always means a small change.
But there are companies that have to stay on a major version for longer for various reasons. When a major version reaches the end of its life, we will continue to provide security patches for up to two years after the release of the last minor version, as long as they are technically feasible.
However, we also strongly recommend that these companies replace outdated software with a new version as soon as possible.
